What are the benefits of Family Coaching?
Family coaching with me is not a set behaviour program or scripted session it comes from the knowledge that you unconsciously know what will make yourself and your family happy and we will work to remove the blocks to get there. Even if this goes against how you were brought up, how your friends bring their children up or what society says. The aim of coaching is for you all to have a voice in what makes you feel safe, connected and happy as a family. I have enough experience of working with families facing difficult issues to help, guide and make suggestions so you can stop reading all those books and blogs that all contradict and leave you overwhelmed & confused. The people who are ultimately going to make the difference is you, you may be extremely stuck at the moment and not believe this but ‘stuck’ is not permanent and is a great starting point to review what you do and don’t want.
Family Coaching with me is a journey we will go on together as a family to address goals that will ultimately improve your family life. One of the initial things we will consider is the needs and wants of each of the family members, so as to better facilitate the coaching process and how we can come together for one family goal this may be something such as about your shared values, beliefs and goals and see where they are aligned and where they may be out of sync. We will work on a strength based model although working and understanding blocks to family feeling like a nice place to be. The areas I specialise in are:
- Post Trauma.
- Building attachment with new family members this may be blended family, Fostering or Adoption.
- Big stuck feelings impacting on everyday life e.g. Anger/Anxiety/ Loss.
- Post Mental Health Interventions e.g. following inpatient admissions or diagnosis that you are finding has blown your family world.
